Glen never thought growing up that he would become single-mindedly driven to help brands serve their customers better, but since founding Handshake in 2010, he has thought about little else.
Glen grew up in Sydney, Australia, and studied Computer Science at the University of New South Wales. He went on to work as a software engineer at BigWorld, a games technology company that delivered a massively-multiplayer games platform for games developers to build upon.
In 2008, Glen was given the opportunity to move to San Diego to launch the US distribution of Australian eco-brand Envirosax, and his career took a sharp left-turn out of software development as he spent the next three years learning what makes the relationship between a brand and its customers tick.
After seeing first-hand the enormous gap in technology that was making it hard for companies like Envirosax to properly serve their customers, Glen began work on the prototype iPhone app that was eventually to become Handshake.
Glen lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and spends what little spare time he has getting humiliated at local skate parks by kids half his age and trying to learn to cook all the dishes from the Pok-Pok Thai cook book.
